As most you know my husband, Tim, passed away from Melanoma in Dec. last year. If someone would ask me what God has done in my life, my first response would be he brought Jericho Road right to my doorstep! I've wanted to express this for many months now in church, however, the words still can not come without many tears, so I'm writing it here. We had only gotten to know Jeff and Jericho Road for a couple of months before Tim passed away, but during those last few months (and of course ever since) I've never before felt God's presence so intensely. I know I could'nt have gotten through those first few months without the love, support, friendship and many wonderful meals that were given to me so freely. Someone all of you barely knew. I believe what I have experienced is what Jericho Road is all about; being the body of Christ. You went out into the community, found me, Matt & Alex, wrapped your arms around us and brought us God's peace and hope for the future. For that we will always be thankful. Jericho Road is what a church IS... what every church should strive to be... a community of people walking with Jesus. Tim and I did not plan for this day, but God knew, and He can be trusted. I also believe that because of Jericho Road, I have a renewed sense of faith and peace that we will make it through this loss, stronger and more connected to our saviour, Jesus Christ.
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith" Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)
Thank you again!
And may God bless each of you,
Debbie Postma

Thank you!
Thank you so much, Debbie, for sharing that amazing soundbyte! You and your boys have been an incredible example of trusting and continuing to have faith in God.
Postma's Peace
I'm amazed to hear words of such grace and gratitude coming from a woman who would have many reasons to complain. Although none of us can imagine the daily wall of pain and loss that comes from missing a great dad and husband like Tim, we can all see the strength and hope that is in Debbie. She is clearly a person who is "fixing her eyes on Jesus" and not on her circumstance. Thanks for encouraging us all so much, Deb!
