Jericho Road Church meets at Lowell School in Wheaton, IL, for our Sunday Gatherings, but we are so grateful our relationship with the school goes way beyond that. The great team at Lowell Elementary has welcomed and accepted us and our desire to come alongside them as they see fit.
It's our privilege to host an afternoon Homework Club at Lowell that specifically supports the work of the English Language (EL) staff and their good work with the large number of EL students and resettled refugees who attend school there.
We've had a blast serving a yearly Thanksgiving Feast and partnering with the school social worker to provide gifts and needed items each year at Christmas. Lowell School's Annual Culture Fest has become an event we all look forward to.
We thank God for the opportunity he has given us to be in deep relationship with the staff, teachers and students at Lowell.
And a big SHOUT-OUT to Raul, who is—hands down—the "World's Best Janitor!"
Jericho has a very dear relationship with World Relief because of the students and families we are connected to through our relationship with Lowell School, our proximity to a number of the apartments where resettled refugee families live, and because a number of immigrant families call our church home.
We feel called to stand with the vulnerable.
God has called us to be engaged citizens, and that's what our community partnership with DuPage United is all about. Through DuPage United, Jericho is building relationships within and between institutions, identifying and researching issues of mutual interest, and taking disciplined, organized action.
